SOUTH LEINSTER CHAMPIONSHIPS 2008 On 19th and 20th of July last we hosted an Annual flying event but this year we had a guest flyer, Stephan Carrier from France who came 7th in this years world championship in Argentina. Stephane perfomed several displays as well as competing in the event. He gave some memoral 3D like displays with his YS 170 powered F3A plane. The event was won by Stephane with Shane Robinson coming second and Niall O'Sullivan coming a close third. Paddy Galvin won Masters class and sportsman class was won by young James Murphy with Dessie Owens coming second and Eugene Jordan placed third. We hope to have some video footage of Stephane flying at out field on this web-site soon so keep a lookout. MONAGEER John Doyle Memorial DISPLAY 27_04_2008 Firstly thanks to all who participated on the day, I feel it was a good success. Thanks to all who brought along their models for the Static display as it generated a good deal of interest, and all of our contact FLYERS were taken away. Also thanks to the fliers who gave a good flying display which did generate a good amount of interest. It was probably the only sunday lately that we could have flown with pleasure at our own patch but these members gave up their time for a worthy cause. Even Ivans control line model generated a lot of interest as did jimmys and brendans helis and Andys LITTLE planes. Many thanks again. |
